Frequently Asked Questions
(FAQ)
Q. What makes your company unique? A. Taste-Customers regularly comment on how moist and delicious
our cakes are.
Service-We intentionally
limit the number of cakes we create each weekend so that we can
provide exceptional and personal service for each
customer.
Design-As a
professional cake stylist and designer, Lynette personally
works with each customer to create a design that is perfect for your
event.
Q.
How soon
should I place my wedding cake order? A. We recommend that you reserve the date with us as soon as
possible, and ideally, 6 months to a year in advance, even if you
don't decide on the details until later. We’re small and in demand,
and limit the number of cakes we do, to maintain our personal touch
and consistency in our quality and service. It is common for us to
book up completely for certain popular dates and holiday weekends,
especially during peak wedding season. We can however, accommodate
near-future and last minute orders if we still have availability for
an upcoming date. So please contact us to check our availability.
A $100.00 non-refundable deposit will reserve your wedding date on
our calendar.
Q.
I’m getting married in the Los Angeles area, but I
live out of state. Can you help?
A. Absolutely! We can work
with you to place your order long distance. We would love to meet
with you, but when it’s not possible we can still accommodate you
and make your order process smooth and
worry-free.
Q.
Do you have a minimum number of
servings?
A. Yes. We specialize in wedding cakes and other large group
event/occasion cakes that provide a minimum of 100 cake servings. For a
wedding cake, this would provide 3 tiers of beautiful dimension. Whether
you need as few as 100 or as many as 800 servings, we can
accommodate.
Q.
Can I choose more than one flavor for my
wedding cake?
A. Certainly. You may have a
different flavor for each tier (and we don’t charge extra for this).
However, we do recommend that you order only two different flavors.
Otherwise, your guests will want to sample all the flavors and there
is a chance that you may run out of cake!
Q.
I have a special design in mind and I have a
picture of how I want my wedding cake to look. Can you
reproduce it for me?
A. Everything we do is
custom made and we love it when you already have a design in mind
and a picture to show us. We can usually reproduce or come very
close to the reproducing the design you want and we can also suggest
subtle variations to make the design uniquely your own.
Q.
Do you provide sugar flowers
or other
decorations?
A. Yes.
We can decorate your cake with hand molded
sugar paste flowers for an elegant high-end look, or if you
would like, piped buttercream flowers. Fresh flowers are provided by
you through your florist, and we will place the flowers on the
cake during delivery and set-up. We also offer beautiful realistic looking
edible pearls to adorn your cake.
Q.
What is
Fondant?
A. Fondant icing is a white sugar "dough" that is rolled
out (similar to rolling out a pie crust dough) and carefully draped
over to cover a buttercream frosted cake. It has a perfectly smooth
matte finish (like porcelain bisque) providing a very elegant look.
Fondant can be colored and used for many unique and elegant designs that
just can’t be accomplished with buttercream. It is also a recommended
icing for warm weather and outdoor wedding receptions.
Q.
Do you make eggless,
flourless or sugarless
cakes?
A. Unfortunately, no. We’ve not been able to find
or create recipes that meet our standard of quality, flavor and
texture.
